The BPE Bioprocessing Standard provides design requirements for new fluid processing equipment and systems used in the bioprocessing, pharmaceutical, and other high purity industries which require a defined level of purity and sterility.

The standard consists of the following parts; General Requirements, System Design, Dimension & Tolerances, Material Joining, Surface Finishes, Seals, Polymers, and Metallic Materials. Each part provides requirements for systems and components that are subject to cleaning, sanitation, or sterilization including systems that are clean-in-place (CIP) or steam-in-place (SIP), or other suitable processes.

For over 50 years, Top Line has been a leader in supplying high purity BPE fittings, valves, pumps, and tubing throughout the world.

Top Line takes extreme pride in providing BPE class products that meet the requirements of the latest edition of the BPE Bioprocessing Equipment Standard.

3-A Sanitary Standard

The 3-A Sanitary Standards Committee’s objective is to formulate sanitary design criteria covering a single piece of equipment called a “Standard” or to formulate practices relating to sanitary process systems called “Accepted Practices”.

These standards are developed through the cooperative efforts of local, state, and federal sanitarians, equipment manufacturers, and equipment end users so that they are acceptable to those involved in the sanitary aspects of the dairy and related industries.

The ultimate goal is to protect dairy products from contamination and to ensure all product contact surfaces can be mechanically cleaned or can be dismantled for manual cleaning, and, when necessary, for inspection.

The committee consists of representatives from the International Association of Milk, Food, and Environmental Sanitarians, the United States Public Health Service, and the Dairy Industry Committee (DIC). Members of the DIC include The American Butter Institute, The American Dairy Products Institute, The International Ice Cream Association, The Milk Industry Foundation, The National Cheese Institute, and The International Association of Food Industry Suppliers (IAFIS).

IAFIS – The International Association of Food Industry Suppliers

The International Association of Food Industry Suppliers (IAFIS) is an 87 year old, not-for-profit trade association of manufacturers and suppliers serving the global food industry.

Formerly the Dairy and Food Industries Supply Assocation (DFISA), the Association changed its name in the spring of 1997 to more accurately reflect the diversity and global nature of its members, their customers, and the food processing and packaging industries.

Its mission is to enhance the sales and profits of the food supply industry through programs and services that:

Promote the development of buying and selling relationships among the members of the food industry.
Provide marketing and business information resources that assist the firms of the food industry to meet the needs of their customers. IAFIS members, and the IAFIS Foundation, sponsor and support Worldwide Food Expo, the industry’s largest food processing and packaging trade show in North America, and a range of scholarships, education programs, information services, and international standards activities for the global food industry.
